Richard Cisneros held on for as long as he could, but after suffering a chopped pot in an advantageous position, he was taken out by Qi Hu.

Hu opened the pot to 600K, the minimum raise, and Andrew Knowles called. Cisneros went all-in from the big blind, Hu called, and Knowles decided not to join the party.

Cisneros: Ace of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds
Hu: Ace of Clubs King of Clubs

Board: 7 of Spades Queen of Hearts 9 of Spades King of Spades 4 of Clubs

Cisneros takes $20,000 for his final table appearance. Great job!

    Richard Alexander Cisneros Campuzano

The remaining 8 players took the time to pause for the camera as the official 8-handed final table. Congratulations to all, and may the best man win!

Our 9 finalists are now on break and will be back in a few. Recent events saw Poorya Nazari double up after getting his Ace of Hearts 7 of Hearts out-flopped by Qi Hu’s Jack of Spades 3 of Clubs. Nazari spiker an ace on the river, one of 3 outs.

A bit earlier, Cisneros thought he was going to double up with Ace of Spades King of Spades against Knowles’ Ace of Diamonds 4 of Diamonds, but the board’s run out completed a Jack high straight.

So 9 players are still in contention, and even the shortest stacks are just 1 double-up away from being comfortable.

Play resumes in a minute with Knowles in the lead, followed closely by Roussy-Majeau. Here are the counts:

The biggest pot of the tournament so far was just played between Philippe Sousa, Andrew Knowles and Qi Hu, three players among the top stacks in the field.

Sousa opened to 275K. Knowles called. Hu made it 1,350,000 to go, and that bet was called by both opponents.

Flop: 7 of Clubs 7 of Spades King of Hearts

Hu checked, and Sousa put in a feeler bet of 925K, rather small considering the size of the pot. Both players called.

    Turn: Jack of Clubs

Both Hu and Souza checked, and Knowles announced all-in. As Hu was trying to figure out where he stood, Knowles slowly advanced his stacks forward. He had 4,840,000. Hu had a simlar amount, and after taking off his glasses and putting them back on a few times, he finally folded. Philippe Sousa, however, made the call instantly, in a slow gesture. Hole cards were shown.

Knowles: 8 of Hearts 7 of Hearts
Sousa: King of Clubs 10 of Clubs

Knowles had flopped the world! His hand was a marginal one, but how could he refuse such good odds of coming into a 3-way pot against 2 enormous stacks. Sousa was drawing to a king or a non-eight club.

    River: 8 of Spades

Knowles let out a sincere “Come on!” He scooped a pot of about 17M chips, far beyond any other arsenal.

Jason Lavallée started the day with 1,275,000 chips, one of the shortest stacks in the Day 4 field. He managed to double that up and then add more by knocking out Nathan Hall. The hand was a pre-flop showdown favouring Lavallée. His Ace of Spades King of Diamonds was looking good against Hall’s Ace of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds. The board was inconsequential, and Hall was the 5th player to go.

Lavallée stayed the course and added a few more $100K chips to his belongings and is now working with just over 4M.

Action is fast and many players already followed Nathan hall. Here a list:

We’re past the half-way point in the first level of play, and 2 players fell in combat. Landriault, whose stack had depleted in the later stages of Day 3, committed with Queen of Hearts Jack of Diamonds. He lost to Ace of Hearts Jack of Hearts, and was the first casualty of the day.

He was followed by Tommy Nguyen. Both players cashed $8,000 for their tremendous efforts. Well played!

It is the final day of the WSOP-C Playground. Today, we crown 4 champions! The Main event, Closer, High Roller and Pot Limit Omaha will all play down to a winner. The $1,000 + $100 Main Event was a tremendous success, and the 2142 entries that were accounted for allowed the event to surpass the $2M guarantee and create an even bigger prize pool for our money finishers. The champion will take $300,000, the Main Event circuit ring, an entry into WSOP-C Monterrey, and huge bragging rights.

With 38 players left and 1-hour levels, there is a lot of poker to be played today. Players have received their seating assignment, and will start on 5 tables. Slowly but surely, these tables will break and eventually lead to the final table where most of the money is. Day 4 qualifiers have secured an $8,000 prize, but our final tableists are looking at a payday between $20,000 and $300,000.

The field is led by Philippe Sousa (6,825,000 chips), who grabbed the lead in the last stint last night. Qi Hu follows with just over 6M. Andrew Knowles, Samuel Roussy-Majeau and Danielle Bracy complete the 5M club. All players, however, have a shot at the title. With blinds at 40K/80K/a80K, chips will fly and it is still anybody’s game. Cards will get in the air at 13h00 sharp. Stay with us throughout the day (and night) for chip updates and hand accounts.

    Good luck to all!

Event #2 of the WSOP-C Playground, the $1,000 + $100 Main Event, will play down to a winner today.
