Day 1G, the final starting flight for the Montreal Open, attracted 191 entries, including 28 re-entries, to bring the total number of entries for this event to 1,536. After four hours of play, 78 players survived Day 1G to bag their chips for Day 2.

The players are past the mid-point of Day 1G, with 11 levels already in the books. The field now stands at 125 runners, out of 191 total entries.
The chip average provides a little more than 40 big blinds, but expect many players to take a more aggressive approach than a stack of that size might otherwise dictate to stay out ahead of the blinds in this turbo flight.

Play has just resumed in level nine of Day 1G, following the first break of the day and the end of the late registration period. This turbo flight drew 189 entries, including 28 re-entries, to bring the total number for the Montreal Open up to 1,534.
There are now 151 players remaining in Day 1G, each racing to collect as many chips as possible before Day 2 starts this afternoon. The current chip leader, Julio Cacoilo, nearly quadrupled his starting stack in the first two hours of play. Many more players managed to more than double up since the start of the action, but it is a turbo flight, after all, so things could change very quickly.

The final starting flight of Event #2 of the MILLIONS North America, the $1,000 + $100 Montreal Open, is about to begin. The Montreal Open has been tremendously popular with players, having already attracted 1,315 entries through the first six starting flights and nearly 400 players have qualified for Day 2. Day 1G, the turbo flight, is the last chance to qualify for Day 2. It will put the players through 16 shortened levels of play before Day 2 begins this afternoon at 3:30pm. As with all other starting flights, late registration and unlimited re-entries will be available until the beginning of the ninth level of play, so players have until 12:15pm to take part. The 15-minute blind levels are sure to lead to lots of fast action throughout this flight, and the re-entries will add up quickly in the last dash to Day 2.
