Day 1C of the WSOP-C Playground Main Event brought out a huge field of players that made a total of 777 entries in this flight. Before play concluded, 164 players fired a second bullet at Day 1C, which helped put nearly 39 million in chips in play. There were nearly 300 players ready and waiting for the start of play this afternoon, and they were joined by a steady stream of new players and re-entries that continued all the way to the final level of play. One popular option was to take a shortcut through the satellite route by taking shots at the series of $110 flips that put many players into the Main Event this afternoon.

The chip lead changed hands several times, and the leading stacks stayed relatively close throughout the flight. Unlike other Day 1s no player jumped out ahead of the pack to establish an insurmountable lead, however, several players maintained stacks that were consistently more than double the chip average. Day 2A runs Friday at noon, and Day 2B gets underway on Saturday at noon. Players can still enter either flight, as late registration and re-entries will be available until the beginning of level 13 around 2:15pm. The beginning of each flight will be action-packed, as players rush in for their last chance at part of the $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. This year’s WSOP-C Playground Main Event winner not only walks away with the cash (and ring), but also an entry into the first WSOP-C event happening in Mexico! The WSOP-C Monterrey takes places from October 11 – 21, 2019 at the Jubilee Casino in Monterrey Mexico.

As Day 1C enters the tenth and final level of play, there are nearly 400 players still involved. The remaining players clearly have their sights set on bagging chips for Day 2, resulting in the field staying relatively stable since the last break. This flight has nearly 40 million in chips in play but it has been playing more cautiously than previous flights so it remains to be seen if the overall chip leader will emerge from Day 1C once the chips go in the bag.

The players have just returned from the final break of this flight, and there are still 418 players in the running. A handful of new players made their way into the field during the last hour to help push the number of chips in play over the 38-million mark.

Joseph Reddick, the chip leader earlier in the afternoon, has regained the pole position as the players head down the final stretch on Day 1C. Although there is a massive number of chips in play, Day 1C has yet to produce some of the monstrous stacks seen in previous flights. Although Reddick’s 360-big blind stack is certainly nothing to sneeze at.

As play enters the late stages of Day 1C, the new players and re-entries just keep coming. In previous starting flights, new entries tailed off after the dinner break, but everyone realizes that this is the last chance to play the Main Event starting flight. Although registration and re-entries will be available on each Day 2, players are jumping on the value provided by a buy-in at this point.

The extended dinner break provided the opportunity for many new players to join the fray and to compile a complete list of chip counts for those already in the field.

Helped along by 122 re-entries, there have now been a total of 719 entries on Day 1C, and 485 players are still in the running. The big stacks in the field are now sitting on many times the current chip average of 74,000, a figure which provides over 100 big blinds. The four remaining levels of play will put deep-stacked poker on display, as the players have enough blinds to take any kind of line they see fit, whenever they see fit. George Chow is at the head of the pack with a lead of over 30,000 on the next closest stack.

Following six levels of play, the Main Event is now on a 60-minute dinner break. The players are lined up for the bountiful buffet and will take advantage of the extended break to refuel, recharge and refocus for the remainder of the flight.

New players continued to jump in on the action during the last level to bring the field close to 700 entries, including 114 re-entries.

The players have just returned to their seats following the second break of the day. There are now 515 players remaining out of 628 total entries, with more than 31 million in chips in play.

The chip leader from the last break, Ryan Mc Auliffe, still finds himself on the leaderboard but has been overtaken by several players. The new chip leader, Joseph Reddick, is comfortably out ahead of the field with a stack of more than triple the current chip average.

Although the arrival of new players slowed slightly, the number of re-entries continues to add up as 78 players have already fired a second bullet at this flight.

Play rolls on in level four, as new players and re-entries continue to bolster the size of the field. There are now close to 30 million in chips in play now that the total number of entries approaches 600.

The action is by far the loosest and most aggressive seen in any starting flight. The players are looking for ways to run up their stacks to prepare for a deep run instead of trying to simply stay ahead of the blinds. With so many chips in play, this approach comes as no surprise.

The first two levels of play saw a steady influx of new players and a handful of re-entries get in on the action. Many players in the field have taken a very aggressive approach to this flight, with lots of chips going in the middle with relative ease. So far, almost every player who hit the rail in the early stages decided to re-enter, a trend that will likely continue throughout the day.

As Day 1C approaches the mid-point of level two, players continue to join the field with each passing minute. There are tournament tables spread across the entire Playground complex, with dealers ready and waiting to open the few empty tables that remain.

Six players have already opted to re-enter, which helped bring the number of total entries to 443. With over 22 million in chips in play, we are likely to see a new overall chip leader emerge from this flight.
