    Marc Saddik wins Event #10

    May 26, 2019May 26, 2019 | 7:03am | Playground

After more than 11 hours of play, Marc Saddik is the Event #10 champion.

In total, 214 players fired a bullet and got into the action.  As is customary with bounty tournaments, the action was intense, swift, and without reprieve.  Bounty chips were exchanging hands at an impressive rate.  Ranking among the most affordable of this event’s tournaments, many of the local players showed up to have some fun tonight.

The final table was a swift and tidy affair.  No more than 15 or 20 minutes went by without one person leaving the table.  The chips changed owners very often and the balance of power shifted accordingly.

The heads up match lasted only a few hands between Ayo Smith and Marc Saddik. After eliminating Mohammed Alamelhuda a few hands prior, Marc’s stack was huge. He had most of the chips on his side of the table and obviously did not intend on wasting any time by being too picky. As soon as Ayo went all-in Marc was there to try to take him out.

Ayo: King of Spades 8 of Spades

Marc: 5 of Spades 7 of Hearts

Board: 7 of Spades 4 of Diamonds 9 of Spades King of Clubs 7 of Clubs

And just like that, we have our Event #10 Champion – Marc Saddik.  He wins the money, the bounties, the trophy and, last but not least, the bragging rights.  Congratulation to all the winners!

Event #10 Champion: Marc Saddik, $8,684

    Last Hand of Play:

    Second Place: Ayo Smith, $6,540

    Alamelhuda out in third

Right after the elimination of Nicholas Soller, Mohammed Alamelhuda found himself in a position to steal the pot with suited cards : Jack of Spades 5 of Spades.

The flop was out: 2 of Spades 9 of Spades 3 of Hearts and he did not hesitate to shove all-in, with Marc Saddik his only opponent. He thought he had good chances. But, Marc could not back down with a flop like that. Holding Queen of Spades 6 of Spades , he called instantly and Mohammed knew he was in trouble.

Neither player hit any of the remaining community cards : 10 of Clubs Ace of Hearts . That meant that Marc’s queen-high was enough to end Mohammed’s night.

    Mohammed Alamelhuda, 3rd place – $4,920

After a few orbits of staying out of trouble, Nicholas Soller tried to grab a pot but met up with some resistance from Mohammed Alamelhuda. Sensing a “move”, Mohammed was surprised to see that Soller was stronger than he thought.

Nicholas: Ace of Spades Jack of Diamonds
Mohammed: Ace of Clubs 6 of Clubs

The window was hiding the killer card King of Clubs 6 of Hearts 3 of Spades , the 6 of Spades on the turn added salt on the wound, and the river changed nothing: 5 of Diamonds .

The three sixes were more than enough to bust Soller in 4th place.

Nicholas “Shooter McGavin” Soller, 4th place – $3,700

Robert Lalonde saw the end of the line when he had few options left and went all-in with Jack of Clubs 2 of Clubs. He ran into Ayo Smith who was holding Ace of Diamonds 5 of Spades.

Ace high was enough on the 6 of Clubs King of Spades 4 of Hearts 6 of Spades 6 of Diamonds board to end Robert’s tournament.

    Robert Lalonde, 5th place – $2,780

    And then there were five

The players enjoyed a short break, which allowed us to update the chip counts of the five remaining.

There are two millionaires at the moment. Mohammed Alamelhuda is enjoying a nice lead with 1,325,000 chips. His closest rival is Nicholas Sollier with 1,110,000.

With few chips left, James Mcdermott tried his luck with a pocket pair: 8 of Clubs 8 of Spades and went all-in. Peeking at his whole cards, Ayo Smith didn’t waste a second before calling with Jack of Clubs Jack of Spades.

Board: Ace of Spades Queen of Clubs 7 of Clubs 3 of Clubs 6 of Diamonds. With no help from the community cards, Mcdermott had to say goodbye to his opponents and leave in 6th place.

    Jame Mcdermott, 6th place – $2,090

    7th place for Thibault

The evening came to an abrupt halt for Roger Thibault. After a raise from Mohammed Alamelhuda, Roger pushed all-in for approximately 300,000 chips. Mohammed made a snap call and both players tabled their hands.

Mohammed: Ace of Spades King of Spades

Roger: 3 of Clubs 3 of Diamonds

The flop was encouraging for Roger: 2 of Spades 4 of Spades 10 of Diamonds. The river changed nothing: 8 of Spades, but the river sealed his fate: King of Clubs.

So Alamelhuda sends Thibault to the rail in 7th position.

    Roger Thibault, 7th position – $1,570

End of the road for Daldalian

With very little chips left, Eddie Daldalian did not hesitate to go all-in with Ace of Clubs 7 of Clubs. Marc Saddic was the only player who called, and he was holding 10 of Clubs 10 of Hearts.

The flop was good for Eddie, but the turn squashed his chances: 5 of Clubs Jack of Hearts 7 of Spades 10 of Diamonds 8 of Spades and that was the end of his journey tonight.

    Eddie Daldalian, 8th place – $1,180

No sooner had the final table started, Jin Sheng Deng was all-in. He found some action with Robert Lalonde, who easily covered him.
Jin Sheng: Jack of Diamonds Jack of Spades
Robert: Ace of Hearts Ace of Diamonds

Board: 9 of Diamonds King of Hearts 10 of Hearts 7 of Hearts Jack of Hearts. The jack was a welcome sight for Jin Sheng, until he realized that it gave a nut flush to Robert.

So Jin Sheng hits the rail in 9th place.

    Jin Sheng Deng, 9th place – $890

Shooter McGavin is on a roll. After a few bouts of raising and re-raising, three players found themselves all-in: Nicholas “Shooter McGavin” Soller, Maxime Siegmann, and John Dubuc.

Shooter covered both players. Where Marc had a relatively short stack, John’s stack, on the other hand, was impressive. When there was no more action possible, all three men tabled their hands.

Shooter: Ace of Clubs King of Diamonds
Marc: Ace of Hearts Queen of Clubs
John: King of Spades King of Hearts

The board held quite a surprise for everyone (maybe except for Barry Greenstein): 10 of Hearts 4 of Diamonds 8 of Diamonds 6 of Spades Ace of Spades. Pair of aces for Shooter, bad news for Siegmann and Dubuc, who finish in 11th and 10th place respectively.

There are now nine players left in the tournament and there has been a complete seating redraw for the final table.

We arrived at the table and the scene was pretty dramatic. Bill Kontaratos was all-in with rockets Ace of Hearts Ace of Spades, whereas Nicholas Soller a.k.a. “Shooter McGavin” was all-in with the cowboys King of Clubs King of Hearts.

Needing this win to double-up and stay in the game, Bill was happy with the flop: 2 of Spades Queen of Spades 10 of Clubs.

Everything went south for him on the turn King of Spades . And if that was not enough to seal the deal, a fourth king arrived on the river King of Diamonds awarding quad kings to Shooter and effectively sending Bill to the rail in 15th position.

The tournament is at it’s fourth break of the evening and the action is still on power mode. The bounty chips are flying and there has been an increase in elimination frequency since the players have been in the money.

The break allowed us to survey the field once again. Robert Lalonde is the current chip leader with 515,000 chips. Mohammed Alamelhuda is right on his trail with 509,000 chips. Rounding off the 300K + club are Roger Thibault, Nicholas Soller and Jin Sheng Deng.
