“King” Arthur crowned Champion of Event #12 PLO Bounty

    May 27, 2019May 27, 2019 | 4:46am | Playground

The event #12 final table was a cinch for Arthur W.  He was hitting everything and could not seem to go wrong.  He eliminated most of the players on the final table, which is a good thing in a bounty tournament for sure.

The heads-up action lasted only a few hands.  Both Andy d’Alessandro and Arthur were definitely not afraid to gamble.  Andy did manage to pick up a few hands, but it was not enough.

Peeking at an acceptable hand, Andy made his move and Arthur did not hesitate long before calling.

Andy: Ace of Hearts King of Spades Jack of Spades 5 of Spades

Arthur: King of Clubs Jack of Clubs Jack of Hearts 10 of Diamonds

Board: 4 of Diamonds 2 of Clubs 10 of Clubs Queen of Clubs 3 of Hearts

Andy got his straight, but unfortunately for him Arthur hit a flush and that put an end to it all.  The hand, the heads-up, the tournament, and, the MILLIONS North America Event were over.

    Congratulations to all the winners!

    Event #12 Champion: Arthur W, $4,254

    Last Hand of Play:

    Second Place: Andy D’Alessandro, $3,230

Pantaleon out in 3rd: Heads up

    May 27, 2019 | 4:31am | Playground

Israel Pantaleon decided to go all in and hope for the best.  Unfortunately he ran into Arthur along the way…

The board: 4 of Diamonds Jack of Clubs 10 of Diamonds 6 of Clubs 4 of Hearts

Israel: Jack of Hearts 4 of Clubs 8 of Diamonds 7 of Diamonds – full, fours full of jacks

Arthur: King of Hearts Jack of Spades King of Diamonds Jack of Hearts – full, jacks full of fours.

So Arthur claims yet another victim and now the stage is set for the heads up action.

    Israel Pantaleon, 3rd place, $2,440

Nelson goes down in 5th place

Ryan Nelson was pretty quiet in his seat #9 and seated right after “King” Arthur.  He was watching the action unfold with lightning speed and tried to pick a spot to double-up.

This time, it was Andy D’Alessandro who was there to block his path.  Both men were all-in and revealed their hole cards.

Ryan: Ace of Clubs 10 of Diamonds Queen of Spades 2 of Diamonds

Andy: 8 of Spades 9 of Spades 10 of Hearts King of Diamonds

The board: 2 of Clubs Queen of Diamonds King of Clubs 9 of Hearts 10 of Clubs

Both players picked up 2 pairs, but Andy’s kings & tens were better and sent Ryan to the rail in 4th place.

    Ryan Nelson, 4th place, $1,940

    Trabelsi is Arthur’s newest victim

Wassim Trabelsi fell to the mighty Arthur W when his all-in was called.

Trabelsi: Queen of Spades King of Hearts 9 of Hearts 7 of Diamonds

Arthur: Ace of Clubs Queen of Diamonds Jack of Spades 7 of Spades

The board was revealed: 10 of Hearts 6 of Hearts 4 of Diamonds 2 of Spades 4 of Clubs

Neither player connected with the board so Arthur’s ace-high was good enough to end Trabelsi’s journey.

    Wassim Trabelsi, 5th place, $1,480

Things were looking up for Arthur, who’s been doing very well on the final table.  With a lot of chips to play with, he did not hesitate to call a double all-in from Marc-André St-Pierre and Steven John Desjarlais.

Board: 3 of Hearts Queen of Hearts 4 of Diamonds 6 of Hearts 7 of Spades

Desjarlais: 8 of Hearts Ace of Spades Ace of Clubs Ace of Diamonds – pair of aces.

St-Pierre: 9 of Diamonds Ace of Hearts King of Clubs 9 of Clubs – pair of nines

Arthur: 5 of Spades 2 of Spades 10 of Hearts Queen of Clubs – and he picks up a straight for the win.  This hand spells the end for both St-Pierre & Desjarlais.  Desjarlais had more chips so he finishes in 6th place.  St-Pierre settles for 7th place.

Steven John Desjarlais, 6th place, $1,130

    Marc-André St-Pierre, 7th place, $870

    8th place for Daud Sha

A few hands after the departure of Brestovac, the action heated up between Shijaudin Daud Sha and Andy D’alessandro.  Both men had their hands open when we got to the table.

Andy: 5 of Clubs 5 of Spades King of Spades King of Hearts

Shijaudin: Ace of Hearts Queen of Hearts King of Clubs 8 of Clubs

Board: 10 of Hearts 2 of Diamonds Queen of Clubs 10 of Clubs 5 of Hearts

Andy picks up a boat, fives full of tens and sends Shijaudin home in 8th place.

As soon as the final table was set-up, it took less than five hands to eliminate two players.

Goran Brestovac barely had time to get settled in his seat that he found himself all-in against Arthur W.

Board: 2 of Hearts 3 of Spades Jack of Hearts King of Diamonds Queen of Spades

Goran: 5 of Hearts Ace of Hearts Ace of Diamonds Queen of Hearts – pair of aces

Arthur: 9 of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds Jack of Spades Ace of Spades – Straight

So Arthur sends Goran to the rail in 9th position.

Just before the last break, we witnessed some pretty intense action on two different tables.

Table #34 was the scene of the first action hand. There was approximately 80,000 chips in the pot. Three players were all-in, Carl Doyon, Israel Pantaleon and Olivier Nittolo. The flop was out: 2 of Clubs Jack of Diamonds 3 of Clubs and after some bursts of testosterone, the three gentlemen ended-up all-in. The dealer instructed them to table their hands.
Carl: Ace of Hearts Ace of Spades 10 of Clubs 4 of Spades , pair of aces and drawing to a straight with any five.
Olivier: 4 of Diamonds 5 of Diamonds 8 of Spades 9 of Spades , was on an open-ended straight draw.
Israel: Ace of Diamonds King of Spades Jack of Spades Jack of Clubs , had hit a set and his inactive cards were nice blockers to prevent a higher set for Carl and a low straight for Olivier.

The rest of the board was revealed: 2 of Clubs Jack of Diamonds 3 of Clubs 6 of Clubs King of Clubs
Olivier picked up a straight on the turn and more than tripled-up. The side pot was given to Israel for his set of jacks. Carl, who covered all the players, was left with a shadow of his old stack in the wake of his useless aces. Carl made everybody chuckle when he exploded with an evil laugh, reminding both his adversaries that they had not gotten his precious bounty chip, which he placed above his tiny stack.

Table #23 is where the second avalanche of chips came from. The hand was almost over, but we caught a glimpse of the setup. Once again, three players were involved. This time it was John Pihlar, Marc-André St-Pierre and Adam Mateus. All the cards were out.
John: King of Hearts Queen of Diamonds 6 of Hearts 8 of Clubs
Marc-André: 9 of Spades 10 of Spades Jack of Spades 9 of Clubs
Adam: Ace of Clubs Ace of Diamonds 3 of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds

The dealer was running the board when we arrived: 7 of Hearts 9 of Hearts 3 of Spades 2 of Hearts Jack of Hearts , and Pilhar picked up a king-high flush. It was impossible to tell how many chips were transferred to Pihlar, but it was impressive. This hand eliminated Mateus, and took a sizable chunk out of St-Pierre’s stack. Once again, aces came up short.

The players are approaching the money bubble.
    Olivier Nittolo triples-up
