Nick “Shooter McGavin” Soller picked up the right hand at the right time. We didn’t see the action however we noticed while walking by his table that he did something he doesn’t usually do: he showed his cards when his opponent folded to his river bet…as he was pretty happy to have rivered a straight flush. His stack is just around average but he knows how to play the game and when to get involved, so hopefully for him he will make a back to back final table tonight and try to secure another championship.

May the cards be with you sir.

There is no question who is in the lead right now; where as the average chip stack is 80,000, one player has a huge lead on the entire field. Karim-Olivier Kamal is not only playing the only stack over 200,000, he is the only one who is over 300,000, sitting on 315,000 in chips. There are three other stacks that are just around 125,000, and many stacks that are between 75,000 – 100,000.

Event #5 champion Nicholas Soller is in the field, and although he currently is not in the top three or four stacks, he has a lot of tournament savoire faire so we will be keeping a close eye on him to see if he can make back to back final tables and possibly back to back championship runs.

Here are the top four players at the break:

Walking by table 30 we noticed all kinds of chips in front of Myriam Campanelli. The players mentioned that she has been on fire, catching all kinds of premium hands against other slightly lower premiums. As we say, “running good“!

Looking at the table there were all kinds of chips in the middle on an Ace of Clubs 5 of Clubs 9 of Hearts flop, and Campanelli led out and was called by Michael Mellor. The turn brought the Jack of Diamonds and this time the action went check-check. On the 5 of Spades river, she picked up another 3,000 chips and put them out in front of her. Mellor smiled, thought about it for a brief moment and then made the call.

Campanelli opened up 8 of Clubs 5 of Diamonds for rivered trips, and Mellor chuckled as he looked at her and said “those rivers have been good to you!“.

When you’re hot, you’re hot. Running good for sure!

There will be a break comming up in just a few minutes at which point the first leaderbaord of the evening will be put together. Stay tuned to find out who the leaders are. Late registration also will come to a close at the end of the break at 10:15pm.

The guaranteed prize pool has been surpassed

    • Small Blind: 150

With still a full hour left to go in the late registration and rebuy period (it ends at 10:15pm), there are already 75 entries (plus another 8 rebuys ) which has taken the prize pool above the $8,000 mark. If you weren’t sure if you wanted to join in or not, the blinds are still low at 150/300 and you start with a full stack (20,000 chips) so don’t delay, come out to play!

Here are some of the players battling it out on the felt:

The $100 + $10 Single rebuy is about to start!

    September 29, 2019September 29, 2019 | 8:01pm | Playground

The $100 + $10 single rebuy is about to start. Players start with 20,000 chips and play 10-handed through 20 minute blind levels until the tournament crowns a champion. Players have unlimited rebuys available until the start of level 7, at 10:15pm. There is also a $5,000 guaranteed prize pool, but if last night’s $100 + $10 Freeze offers any insight, this event can easily surpass the guarantee (last night the $10,000 guarantee on Event # 5 ended up with a prize pool just over $18,000!).

The cards will be in the air in just a few minutes so hope to see you soon!
