The players are getting settled in their new seats and counting their merged stacks, as play is set to resume in level 7. What started with 84 teams is now down to 68, as the players will now alternate with each level to play their team’s combined stack. A handful of cash game tables, reserved exclusively for players in the Tag Team, are being opened up across the tournament hall to help players pass the time in between their turns.
Each team has been given three consultation chips and will be awarded an additional consultation chip for each team they eliminate from here to the end of the tournament. Also, for the remainder of the tournament, no electronic devices of any kind will be permitted at the table.
The Tag Team now has an 84-team field, with 109 players still in contention. The clock is winding down on level 6, the last level of individual play before the stacks merge. With nearly 60 eliminations so far, there are probably some teams that have lost both members, but so long as one team member has chips left, they can keep their team’s hopes alive.
Slightly more than 30 minutes remain in the late registration period so a few more teams may join before it is too late and help build up the prize pool that has already surpassed its $20,000 guarantee.

As expected, the Tag Team has taken over the tournament hall with a huge field of players. There have been 77 teams registered so far. After a few early eliminations, the field has stabilized at 138 players, for the time being. There is still over two hours of individual play ahead until the merge, so the players will have to manage their chips carefully until then if they hope to put their team in a good position for a deep run.
Late registration will be available until the beginning of level 7 at around 2:30pm so there is still plenty of time to get in on the action.

The time has arrived for one of the most anticipated events of the September Power Weekend, the $300 + $30 Tag Team!
This single-day freezeout event guarantees a prize pool of $20,000. Players will be paired up in teams of two, but they will start by playing their 25K starting stacks individually before the stacks are merged after level 6. Late registration will be available until the beginning of level 7. Players will then take turns playing their team’s stack, alternating with each level.
Each team will receive three consultation chips following the merge, to be used if a players wishes to consult his or her teammate during a hand. Teams will also be awarded one additional consultation chip for each team they eliminate from the tournament. In order to help protect the integrity of play, no electronic devices of any kind will be permitted at the table following the merge to team play.
