The prize pool has been released and, as expected, the guaranteed was almost doubled with 191 entries to reach $37,054.

The top 24 places will be paid, with the winner earning a very respectable $7,954 prize.

The players are coming back from a short break and late registrations are closed.

In total, 191 entries made their way into the field.  33 of those were re-entries, and there are now 135 players left.

After 6 levels of play, Carla Sabini is the chip leader with a respectable 127,000 chips.  Only two other players have managed to scoop up more than 100K and they are Serge Roy (111,200) and Alain Lavoie (110,600).  Marc-Olivier Benson and Darren Macguire are right behind them with 98,700 and 98,000 chips respectively.

Now that the registration period is closed, you can expect the action to level off as the players settle in for the grinding period that usually accompanies this leg of the tournament.  But, you never know with poker… and let’s not forget that there are 5.73 million chips in play.

After only 30 minutes of play, the number of entries has more than doubled.  There are now 110 players seated, out of the 113 entries (including 3 re-entries).  In other words, the only three players to have busted, have re-entered already.

The players seem to be throwing caution to wind sometimes as already some all-ins can be heard here and there.  With 30,000 chips each, those are pretty big gambles this early in the game.  But, as is often the case in unlimited re-entry tournaments, the players tend to be a little loose with their chips.  There are already more than three million chips in play; room to have fun for sure.

The action just got under way for Event #4 and it promises to be an interesting ride.  This single day event boasts a $20,000 prize pool, and unlimited re-entries.

The $200 + $20 Deepstack Re-entry is always a favorite among the players.  The whopping 30,000 starting stack is one of the reasons.  With blinds starting at 25/50, there is room for a lot of options and strategies.  Blinds will increase every 20 minutes, and entries (or re-entries) are allowed until the beginning of level 7, which should be around 3:15pm.

There are currently 53 players registered but that number is expected to rise exponentially.  There is plenty of time to come down to Playground and try to grab a piece of the prize.

Event #4 of the June Power Weekend, the $200 + $20 Deepstack Re-entry, is about to begin! This tournament provides players with a massive starting stack of 30,000 in chips and permits unlimited re-entries until the end of the late registration period at the beginning of the seventh level of play. Play will be 10-handed to start the afternoon but will move to 9-handed as soon as possible.

 Thanks to the gigantic prize pool guarantee of $20,000, there are sure to be a number of players who fire a number of bullets at this one because the prize pool will be too big to pass up!
