After much anticipation, the WSOP-C Playground has finally arrived! The action got underway online this past weekend with starting flights for both the Colossus and the Main Event on partypoker.
The $1,000 + $100 Main Event guarantees a prize pool of $2,000,000 and is sure to be a tremendously popular event. It started with an online flight that combined Day 1 & 2 which brought out 194 entries and allowed 29 players to secure a place in the money while advancing stacks to Day 3. The live action in the Main Event starts Tuesday, August 27 at 12:00pm with Day 1A, the first of three live starting flights. There will be a series of $110 + $10 mega satellites to the Main Event running from August 26 to 30 that will qualify at least 170 players. Click here to see the full schedule of satellites.
The $300 + $30 Colossus has already completed two of four online flights. Online Day 1A had 154 entries, which allowed 23 players to advance to Day 2. Online Day 1B drew 124 entries, 19 of which advanced to Day 2, to bring the total number of Day 2 qualifiers to 42, all of whom have already secured at least a min-cash in this event. There are two more online flights ahead on partypoker; Online Day 1C starts tonight at 7:00pm, and the final starting flight on partypoker, Online Day 1D starts Wednesday, August 21 at 7:00pm.
The live action in the WSOP-C starts at Playground at 12:00pm on Thursday, August 22, with the first of nine starting flights for the Colossus, Day 1A. There will be at least two Colossus starting flights per day from Thursday to Sunday, before Day 2 begins on Monday, August 26 at 12:00pm. The Colossus is an unlimited re-entry event, meaning that players can fire as many bullets as they like to try to build the biggest stack possible and set up a deep run to get a part of the $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.
