Introducing… the WCC Tag Team event!

Over the years, Tag Team events have become a staple of the Playground tournament scene. They typically appear every second Power Weekend or so, and invariably attract a huge number of players, eager to partner up to play a game that is normally a purely individual pursuit.

The World Cup of Cards 2019, running from January 20 to February 6, opens with Event #1: $400 + $40 Tag Team and its $50,000 guarantee. Having proved its popularity time and again in several Power Weekends, the Tag Team format has been promoted to the World Cup of Cards.

Special Tag Team Rules

The first 6 levels are played individually – each team member starts with a 25,000 chip stack.
Following a seating redraw after level 6, individual stacks are merged (if there are 2 left) to form the team stack and players alternate at the table from level to level.
So begins the team phase of play with 3 consultation chips per team, to be used wisely. Teams earn an additional consultation chip for each team they eliminate from the tournament.

The World Cup of Cards starts in 2 months, but we wanted to bring your attention to this tournament early for you to have ample time to find the right partner. All kinds of teams are possible! Friends, father and son, teams made of brothers, married couples. Any coalition is accepted! Find your teammate and tag him – or her – in!

Proof of vaccination required in Kahnawake

As of Wednesday, September 1, 2021, ′Proof of Vaccination′ (′Vaccine Passport′) will be required for all guests entering the Playground Complex, including The Rail Coal Fire Bistro. This decision was made by the Public Safety Commission of Kahnawake and the MCK and applies to all non-essential businesses within the community of Kahnawake. Over the course of the last week, Playground implemented a series of measures to support the effort to combat the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), which culminated in a complete closure on Friday night at 11:59pm. After closely following the development of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak on a daily basis, Playground feels that a suspension of activities is the wisest course of action at this time.
