The first live flight of the $3,000 + $300 Main Event attracted a total of 182 entries, including 19 re-entries. Some of the best names in the business were in the field today, with players from all over Canada and the United States, as well as some from overseas, getting in on the action.
Spencer McLean was the chip leader early on in the evening and maintained the top spot for most of the flight. Most of the players who were on the leaderboard managed to hold onto their chips through the course of eight 60-minute levels of play, and when it was all said and done, it was Roger Lamia who bagged the lead with 278,000 chips.

Day 1B starts at noon tomorrow, and Day 1C takes place Thursday, also at 12:00pm. Day 2 runs Friday at 12:00pm, and players can enter (or re-enter) the tournament up until the start of level 13 on Day 2 at 4:30pm.
