It’s down to 21 players as play resumes after the third break, and everyone is eager to stay in contention for a spot on Day 2. Players are starting to feel the pressure as only the top 11 players will make it to Day 2.

Stephane Boisvert holds the top spot with a large lead over his competitors. His stack is almost triple the chip average!

Play has just resumed in level 12, and this flight has a new chip leader.

Former chip leader Tyler Lee fell back into the back, while Stephane Boisvert put together a strong run to take his stack beyond triple the current chip average. The field now counts three players with six-figure stacks, as they home stretch has come into view on the horizon. The top 11 players will make the money and advance their stacks to Day 2, so the pressure will only mount from here.

Day 1B of the Playground 100 got off to a fast start this afternoon. There was a large crowd ready and waiting for the start of play, with new players and re-entries arriving at a steady pace since then. There have already been eight re-entries through three levels of play, which shows that the players are making the most of the unlimited re-entry format and taking every opportunity to run up their stacks in the early stages.

Here is a look at the action from the early levels of play:

Day 1B kicks off at 12:00pm

    November 22, 2019November 22, 2019 | 11:59am | Playground

Day 1B of the $100 + $10 Playground 100 will begin shortly at 12:00pm. Players will start with 20,000 in chips and play through 20-minute levels on each Day 1. This multi-day event boasts a guaranteed prize pool of $50,000, providing outstanding value at a modest buy-in.

Each starting flight will play 10-handed and move to 9-handed as soon as possible. Each Day 1 plays down to 10% of the field, at which point the money will be reached, and the players will bag their chips. Day 2 will be held on Sunday, November 24, at 3:00pm.

This is a re-entry event with unlimited re-entries permitted until the beginning of Level 7 on each Day 1. Players may enter additional Day 1s even if they survived a previous Day 1 with chips. Players who qualify for Day 2 more than once will resume play on Day 2 with their largest qualifying stack; all other qualifying stacks must be forfeited.

19 players have advanced to Day 2 after the first two starting flights. The overall chip leader is Hugo Fontaine with 459,000 in chips. The combined Day 1 results can be found here.

The action is about to begin, good luck to all!

The first live flight of the $100 + $10 Playground 100 just came to an end in a dramatic and tense fashion. Play was scheduled to stop once there were only 15 players remaining at which point all of the players would bag for Day 2 and they would all be in the money. The one logistics point that was important is that regardless of other bustouts taking place, in order to qualify for a min-cash, a player needed to actually bag chips and not just be part of the final 15. When there were 17 players left in the field, before the floor staff had an opportunity to put the play hand-for-hand, all ins took place on both of the remaining tables at the same time. On one of the tables, there was a double knockout, resulting in only 15 players remaining. The problem was, on the other table, Warren Goldstein, was all in from the big blind for less than a full ante and he needed to survive in order to cash. What made things even worse for Goldstein was the fact that he was holding 53 off suit. The poker gods were on his side though as the dealer flopped a 3 for him and his opponent didn’t hit either of his cards, allowing Goldstein to benefit from a min-cash and the chance to return on Day 2 to see if he could be lucky enough to run his stack back up. Needless to say, Goldstein was pretty happy about the outcome of the hand.

The chip leader for Day 1A was none other than Andy Carriere, bagging 402,500. He is followed in second place on today’s flight by Patrick Bernier with 369,000 chips. In third place sits Avi Logasy with a bag of 314,000.

    • Day 1F: Saturday, November 23 at 8:00PM

Day 2 will be held on Sunday, November 24 at 3:00pm and play until there is a winner.

The night is getting interesting as the field has now dropped to 34 players and where as there usually would be four or five top tier stacks at this point of the night, there are only two players who are way ahead of the others and then quite a few players who are just a little above the average. Jeremi Kielian has jumped to the top of the pack with a stack of 240,500 chips (48 big blinds) and Avi Logasy is following in second with 220,500 chips (44 big blinds). To keep some perspective, Hugo Fontaine, the chip leader from the online flight on partypoker, finished his flight with 459,000 chips.

There will most probably still be some swings as we are now entering the final stage of the flight, with only 19 more players to go before the day comes to an end and players bag for Day 2.

The chips are flying around the room and stacks are moving up and down but for Abram “Avi” Logasy, he can still claim to be the king supreme at the second break of the night. The average stack is just under 50,000 chips and Logasy has managed to stay ahead of the others with 166,400 chips, more than three times the average, good for 104 big blinds. He has some pressure however as others are now closing in so it will be interesting to see where everyone sits at the next break.

Play continues tonight until the field drops to only 15 players, so there is still a lot of poker left to be played.

    Here are the current leaders:

The action is heating up and the tournament is now down to just 91 players, as player’s are taking chances with some aggressive play. With the current pace, it appears that there might be some massive stacks at the end of the night.

The late registration and re-entry period has now come to a close and Day 1A has attracted 150 entries (including 32 re-entries) putting a total of exactly 3,000,000 chips into play. With an average stack sitting just under 30,000 chips, Playground regular tournament and cash game player Abram “Avi” Logasy is the commander so far with a stack of 97,300, effectively 195 big blinds. Play is expected to remain aggressive as the players know that if they end up losing their stack, they still have more chances tomorrow to fire another bullet.

This is your chance to play the most affordable multi-day tournament of the Power Weekend: The $100 + $10 Playground 100 offers players a whopping $50,000 guaranteed prize pool that can easily swell to substantially more. It’s a great opportunity to play for a big payday at the same buy-in as many of Playground’s daily tournaments so stop what ever it is that you are doing and come join the action.

Players start with 20,000 chips and play starts off ten-handed with 20 minute blind levels, and will move to nine-handed play once the field thins out just a little bit. This is a re-entry event with unlimited re-entries permitted until the end of the late registration period on each Day 1 starting flight. Re-entry is permitted for any player that loses all their chips or chooses to forfeit their stack. A player may play additional Day 1s even if they have survived a previous Day 1 with chips. Players who qualify for Day 2 more than once will resume play on Day 2 with their largest qualifying stack; all other qualifying stacks will be forfeited. Players would, however, retain the associated cash prize for every forfeited stack. Players may enter (or re-enter) the tournament until the beginning of Level 7 on each Day 1, which will be at 9:15pm.

Play will continue on all Day 1 starting flights until only 10% of the field remains, at which point all players will be in the money as they bag their chips for day 2.

There was an online day flight that took place this past weekend on partypoker that saw 39 players try their skills at making it into Day 2. The four Day 2 qualifiers are led by Hugo Fontaine, who set himself apart from the pack with a stack of 458,500, nearly quadruple the amount of the next closest qualifier. The combined Day results for the Playground 100 can be found here.

Other day 1 starting flights are as follows:

    • Day 1B: Friday, November 22 at 12:00PM
    • Day 1C: Friday, November 22 at 7:00PM
    • Day 1D: Saturday, November 23 at 11:00AM
    • Day 1E Turbo: Saturday, November 23 at 4:00PM
    • Day 1F: Saturday, November 23 at 8:00PM

Day 2 will be held on Sunday, November 24 at 3:00pm and play until there is a winner.

With already 73 players seated in the room, this is looking like it will be a really big success.

Good luck to all of the players!

    Four Day 2 Qualifiers

    November 19, 2019 | 5:20pm | Playground

The Playground 100 got off to a solid start online this past Sunday.

The Online Day 1, held on partypoker, gathered 39 entries. Keeping the same structure as the live starting flights, the Online Day 1 played down to the top 10% of the field. The four Day 2 qualifiers are led by Hugo Fontaine, who set himself apart from the pack with a stack of 458,500, nearly quadruple the amount of the next closest qualifier. The combined Day results for the Playground 100 can be found here. Day 2 will be held on Sunday, November 24 at 3:00pm and play until there is a winner.

There are many more opportunities to get in on this event and compete for part of the $50,000 guaranteed prize pool. This is an unlimited re-entry event, so players can enter as many starting flights as needed to build a competitive stack and make a deep run.  The first of six live starting flights, Day 1, runs Thursday, November 21 at 7:00pm.
