Morissonneau leads the 17 Day 1C qualifiers

    November 23, 2019 | 3:45am | Playground

There were 166 players grinding away in Day 1C of which the final 17 were scheduled to bag and move on to day 2. With 3,250,000 chips in play, big stacks started to appear by the half-way point in the tournament and most of the players who were on the leaderboards throughout the night managed to make it to the end with decent chip stacks.

The chip leader for tonight is Didier Morissonneau who was able to add to his stack when he knocked out Mohammed Naceri on the bubble. After having already put in a raise, he called the shove of 32,500 by Naceri who had pocket tens. Morissonneau was holding ace-seven and was able to flop his ace and then boat up on the river, bringing tonight’s flight to a conclusion.

    2. Daniel Arseneau, 326,000 chips

Come and try your poker skills to play the most affordable multi-day tournament of the November Power Weekend. The $100 + $10 Playground 100 offers players a massive $50,000 guaranteed prize pool that may end up substantially more than that. It’s a great opportunity to play for a big payday at a modest buy in cost to you.

There have so far been a total of 290 entries through one online starting flight on partypoker as well as the the two live flights here at Playground. There are already 85 players who have taken their seats in Day 1C and the bridge is clear for the Friday night flight that is sure to attract a lot of players. And a lot of players translates into a lot of chips in play!

Players start with 20,000 chips and play starts off ten-handed with 20 minute blind levels, and will move to nine-handed play once the field thins out just a little bit. This is a re-entry event with unlimited re-entries permitted until the end of the late registration period on each Day 1 starting flight. Re-entry is permitted for any player that loses all their chips or chooses to forfeit their stack. A player may play additional Day 1s even if they have survived a previous Day 1 with chips. Players who qualify for Day 2 more than once will resume play on Day 2 with their largest qualifying stack; all other qualifying stacks will be forfeited. Players would, however, retain the associated cash prize for every forfeited stack. Players may enter (or re-enter) the tournament until the beginning of Level 7 on each Day 1, which will be at 9:15pm.

Play will continue on all Day 1 starting flights until only 10% of the field remains, at which point all players will be in the money as they bag their chips for day 2.

The Day 2 qualifiers are led by Playground’s own Hugo Fontaine, who set himself apart from the pack with a stack of 458,500, The combined Day results for the Playground 100 can be found here. (NB: today’s results will only be added tomorrow)

Tomorrow’s day 1 starting flights are as follows:

    • Day 1D: Saturday, November 23 at 11:00AM
    • Day 1E Turbo: Saturday, November 23 at 4:00PM
    • Day 1F: Saturday, November 23 at 8:00PM

Day 2 will be held on Sunday, November 24 at 3:00pm and play until there is a winner.

With already 73 players seated in the room, this is looking like it will be a really big success.

Good luck to all of the players!
