John Pisani was all smiles on table 31, and so were his table mates. With the blinds at 500/1,000, Jean-Guy Roy opened the action in middle-late position with a raise to 2,500. Pisani made the call from the button and the blinds folded. The flop came Queen of Hearts 9 of Diamonds Queen of Diamonds and Roy continued out for 3,000. Pisani called. The turn brought the 2 of Hearts, and Roy instantly moved all in. Pisani snap-called.

Roy: 4 of Diamonds 2 of Spades
Pisani: Queen of Spades Jack of Spades

The Ace of Hearts on the river was of no consequence and Roy gets sent to the rail while Pisani keeps adding to his stack.

On table 27, with the blinds at 250/500, Jason Syms raised from middle position to 1,250, finding a call from Rejean Grenier a few seats to his left. When action was on Aristidis Angelopoulos seated on the button, he re-raised to 6,000. Both Syms and Grenier called.

The flop came Ace of Spades 5 of Diamonds Queen of Hearts and Syms instantly moved all in. Grenier tanked for close to 30 seconds before making the call. The button folded.

Syms: Ace of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds
Grenier: Ace of Clubs 9 of Clubs

Syms wasn’t sure if he was ahead or not until he saw Grenier’s cards. The 8 of Diamonds turn and 4 of Clubs river didn’t change a thing, and Syms raked in a nice pot while enjoying the last few bites of his late breakfast.

With blinds at 100/200, Sylvain Bouchard raised it up and found a caller in Anthony Amato. On a Jack of Hearts 4 of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds flop, Bouchard continued out for 600; Amato called. The turn brought the 9 of Spades, and this time Bouchard lead out for 1500, again, Amato called. The was the Queen of Spades, and Bouchard eased up on the gas with a bet of 500. Amato made the call.

Bouchard: Queen of Clubs 3 of Clubs
Amato: Queen of Hearts 10 of Spades

The two players were happy to chop the pot by hitting the river. Amato was open-ended on the flop and Bouchard, well, he was probably the happiest of the two as he had completely missed the flop and turn.

There remains another hour plus in the late registration period as well as one more starting flight tonight, Day 1E at 7:00pm.
