    Drolet-Poitras bags 277,000 to lead qualifiers into Day 2

    Day 1A of the $200 + $20 Playground 200 has come to a close. The first of five starting flights attracted a total of 74 entries, including 15 re-entries, hoping to qualify for Day 2 to continue competing for a piece of the $100,000 prize pool guarantee.

    Eric Ranger was the early chip lead but was surprisingly eliminated before the third break. Sebastien Drolet-Poitras played tonight’s flight relatively unnoticed but was able to finish big and end the night in first place with an impressive 277,000 in chips. Saman Saryazdi finished second with 243,500 and Dominic Tossings is third with 206,000. 13 players were able to survive 14 levels to qualify for Day 2.

    There are four more starting flights for the Playground 200 before Day 2 takes place on Sunday, March 1 at 1:00pm. Day 1B will begin tomorrow at 11:00am To see the full schedule, click here. Players may enter additional Day 1 flights even if they have qualified. Those who qualify for Day 2 more than once will resume play with their largest qualifying stack; all other qualifying stacks will be forfeited.

    There’s been a complete shift in the leaderboard following the third break of the night. Former chip lead Eric Ranger was eliminated, leaving the top spot to Marcus Ford who has a considerable stack of 189,000. Ford’s stack is more than double the chip average of 84,000 and currently good for 118 big blinds.  Leo Hackenbroch and Simon Assouline make up the second and third positions on the new leaderboard.

    22 players continue through level 12 in pursuit of a qualifying spot in Day 2.

    The field is down to three tables where 25 players remain. Competitors have to survive a few more levels if they want to make it to Day 2. The average stack now sits at 74,000 with blinds at 600/1200. Players with smaller stacks are struggling to stay afloat but winning one big pot could put them back in serious contention.

    35 players remain after eight levels of play. A few competitors have managed to build significant stacks but the majority of the field sits around the current chip average of 52,800.

    Eric Ranger has managed to maintain his lead with a stack worth 112,000 which is good for 140 big blinds. Ian Armorer is the only other player that was able to stay in the leaderboard in fourth place with 78,000 in chips.

There were a total of 74 entries, including 15 re-entries, before the late registration period was closed at 10:15pm, putting 1,850,000 chips in play. If competitors are able to hang on through level 14, they will move onto Day 2 where they will continue their quest for a piece of the $100,000 guaranteed prize pool.

    47 players have returned from the first break of the night and resumed level five. Late registration is still open for another 50 minutes until 10:15pm, before level seven begins. The average stack currently sits at 34,000 and there are a total of 1,575,000 chips in play. The field is still wide open, so long as competitors can last through 14 levels to qualify for Day 2.

    Eric Ranger is the chip leader for the moment with a stack of 88,800, which is good for 296 big blinds. Sanghyun Lim is not far behind in second with 74,700 or 249 big blinds.

    Day 1A is slowly but surely picking up steam. Two levels down and 45 entries thus far with two hours remaining in the late registration period. Players can enter, or re-enter, the field until 10:15pm, before the beginning of level seven, where they can try and qualify for Day 2 on Sunday March 1 at 1:00pm.

    Welcome to the Playground 200

    Welcome to the $200 + $20 Playground 200! The second event of the February Power Weekend is featuring a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool and five starting flights. Qualifying players will move onto Day 2 to play for a spot in the final day on Monday, March 3 at 7:00pm.

    Competitors will begin with a starting stack of 25,000 in chips and play 10-handed through 14 levels on each Day 1. Blinds will increase every 30-minutes for Day 1 flights. This is a re-entry event with unlimited re-entries permitted until the end of the late registration period at the beginning of level seven. Re-entry is permitted for any player who loses all their chips or chooses to forfeit their stack. Players may enter additional Day 1s even if they have survived a previous Day 1 with chips. Those who qualify for Day 2 more than once will resume play with their largest qualifying stack; all other qualifying stacks will be forfeited.

    Players are beginning to take their seats and prepare for the first flight. Good luck to all competitors!
