The results are in: after a full six levels of play, the late registration and re-entry period has now come to a close and there are a total of 209 entries (including a whopping 51 re-entries). Simply outstanding!

With an average stack sitting just under 40K (50 bigs), quite a few players have amassed at least double the average, however one player, local Playground regular Raphael Oyahon is the only one so far who has broken the 100K mark, sitting on a stack of 123,300 chips, effectively 154 big blinds!

Action is the word of the night as with a $100 bounty chip on the line the tournament has already seen a total of 30 re-entries! With still a little bit longer left to go in the re-entry (and late registration period), and with already 183 total entries, the prize pool tonight is simply superb!

Arriving at table 33 there were already close to 3,000 chips in the middle on a flop and Bryan Robitaille Fequet checked which was followed by a bet of 2,300 by Franco Sicondolfi. Robitaille Fequet made the call and the dealer put out the on the turn. Robitaille Fequet checked again and Sicondolfi continued to blast away, this time putting in 4,300 chips. Once again, Robitaille Fequet made the call. The river brought the and the action went check-check. Before Robitaille Fequet opened his cards, Sicondolfi showed and Robitaille Fequet mucked.

As this post was being written up, the same two players were all in heads-up one more time, with Sicondolfi holding six-five off suit on a four-seven-eight flop for flopped nuts, good enough to seal the deal and pick the $100 bounty chip from Robitaille Fequet.

Bounty, bounty, bounty!

The first break of the night is coming up shortly at which point we will put together the first leaderboard of the tournament.

Action, action, read all about it! There are already 142 entries (including 7 re-entries) which means that the $20,000 guaranteed prize pool has already been smashed and there still remains another 75 minutes to go in the late registration/re-entry period. If this pace keeps up, there may even be as many as 200 entries by the time level seven starts which would double the guarantee.

Welcome to Event #5 of the World Cup of Cards, the $100 + $20 + $100 6-Max 50/50 Bounty Re-entry. This tournament is always a popular one as it combines the aggression of a short-handed 6-max format along with a 50/50 bounty prize pool, meaning that $100 of the buy in goes to the prize pool, and there is also a $100 bounty on the head of each and every player that you are able to knock out!

Players start with 25,000 chips and play through 20 minute levels. There is a guaranteed $20,000 prize pool and with already 75 players seated right now, it looks like the prize pool may in fact grow even larger that.

Late registration (and re-entry) is open right up until the start if level seven at 9:15pm.
