    PL Omaha 3 Lives Re-entry Champion: Francis Fortin Chevalier

    Event #3 of the World Cup of Cards, the $150 + $15 PL Omaha 3 Lives Re-entry, featured a $7,000 prize pool guarantee and unlimited re-entries during the late registration period. 

    When that moment arrived, there were a total of 69 entries, including 15 re-entries, which allowed the prize pool to surpass the guarantee and award a total of $9,679 in prize money to the top nine players.

    At the final table, Adam Bogach was the first to hit the rail, finishing in ninth place for $300. Then Joshua Royal Peteigney finished in eighth place for $390. Chris Arvanitis he ended up leaving in seventh place for $520, followed by James Reinhart, who finishde in sixth place and collected $680 for his efforts. In fifth place was Brian Morgan, scoring $890 to add to his weekend winnings.

    Once play went four-handed, the players agreed to an ICM chop of the remaining prize pool. In addition to the ICM payouts, $360 was left for the tournament champion.

    When play went heads-up between Francis Fortin Chevalier and Maxime Laberge, Fortin Chevalier had a substantial lead, but Laberge secured a few double-ups just to make things interesting. The final hand took place when Fortin Chevalier hit the flop and shoved his stack, finding a call by Laberge.

    Brian Morgan had a great weekend of poker and made the final table tonight just after final tabling event #1 for a six-figure score at the Borgata Winter Poker Open in Atlantic City. He tried his best to pick up the trophy tonight but ultimately fell in fifth place. None the less, an amazing weekend of poker for Morgan.

    Play lasted on the bubble for close to 15 minutes until finally the fateful hand came down between Elaine Rawn and Goran Brestrovac. Rawn was severely short with on;ly three big blinds and shoved her hand, with Brestovac calling from the big blind.

    Event #3 has proven to amazingly popular as there are now a total 62 entries (including 11 re-entries) with 45 players still in the running.

    A special mention to local player Brian Morgan who returned to Montreal last night while driving through the blizzard on his way home from an amazing run with a six-figure score on the final table of Event #1 ($600 NL Hold-em $2mil GTD) at the Borgata Winter Poker Open in Atlantic City.
