A total of 525 entries for the $150 + $25 Strangers in the Night tournament have been reduced to the top nine going into the final day of the tournament. All advancing players are guaranteed a min-cash of $1,480 for the 9th place finisher and a grand prize of $14,362 for first place.

Day 3 will commence tomorrow, January 29 at 7:00pm.

Day 2 of the $150 + $25 Strangers in the Night has come to a close. 103 qualifiers began the night competing for the $76,387 prize pool but ten levels of play reduced the field to the final nine, all of whom will continue to Day 3.

The rapid pace of play in the early levels quickly eliminated the short stacks after the first hour. Once the prize pool was announced, players proceeded with caution to be sure of making it to the money. 66 competitors would be in the money with a min-cash of $250 for 66th and the grand prize coming in at $14,362.

Andre Piunno was the early chip lead but it was Trevor Adams who finished the night on top. Adams consistently made the leaderboard throughout the flight and was able to bag 2,700,000 chips going to tomorrow’s final. Piunno finished close behind in second with 2,325,000. Day 3 will commence tomorrow evening at 7:00pm for the finals. The nine advancing players are guaranteed a min-cash of $1,480. Congratulations and good luck in Day 3!

17 players have returned to the floor as level 23 gets underway. The average stack now sits at 772,000 which will get players 38 big blinds. The 20 remaining competitors are guaranteed to go home with at least $820 but of course everyone is trying to ladder up to the top 15, where the payout jumps to $1,000.

Trevor Adams has taken the top spot after consistently making the leaderboard throughout the night. Adams has more than doubled the chip average with a count of 1,855,000. Andre Piunno has rejoined the leaderboard in second place after falling behind after the second break. Piunno’s stack of 1,760,000 is good for 88 big blinds.

A seating redraw has just taken place for the final three tables. 21 players continue to battle for a spot at the final table as the clock runs down on level 22. The pressure of the blinds and the increasing payouts have modified the once aggressive approach of the players, as they now proceed with caution.

The last 28 players have returned to the tables after the second break of the night. There are four more 40-minute levels to be played if needed before the final table is reached.

Two players have become millionaires since the last break, Daniel Gennings and Gregory Stringer. Gennings currently holds the top spot with a monstrous stack of 1,425,000, good for 118 big blinds while Stringer is just a hair behind with a cool 1,340,000.

Just 36 players remain midway through level 20 and the tension is mounting. The pace of play has slowed significantly in the last two levels as the stakes and payouts increase. Competitors are now guaranteed a min-cash of $430. Play will move to 8-handed once the field is reduced to 32.

Play has resumed into level 18 after the first break of the night. A handful of players have built up huge stacks as the number of eliminations grow. The remaining 50 competitors are guaranteed a payout of at least $320 as they move closer to Day 3.

Andre Piunno has taken the early lead with 710,000 chips. Piunno’s stack is currently worth 118 big blinds and is almost triple the chip average. Trevor Adams is second with 638,000, good for 106 big blinds.

Day 2 of the $150 + $25 Strangers in the Night tournament has just kicked off as 103 players continue to compete for a piece of the $75,000 prize pool guarantee.

Tonight’s event will pick up in level 15 and play through ten 40-minute blinds. All remaining players at the end of level 25 will advance to the finals, tomorrow at 7:00pm. Competitors will begin 9-handed and move to 8-handed if the field is reduced to 32.
