The final starting flight for the Strangers in the Night, Day 1D Turbo, came and went in a flash, completing 14 levels of play in only four hours.

This turbo flight delivered fast action right from the outset, and the blistering pace kept up all the way to the end of the flight. Despite the shortened late registration and re-entry period, this flight took in 14 re-entries for a total of 79 entries, which put nearly 2 million in chips in play.

In the end, 29 players survived to bag chips at the end of level 14. Led by Sinisa Stajic, these qualifiers will return this evening at 7:00pm for Day 2. To see the combined Day 1 results, click here.

Day 1D Turbo is nearly done, as there is less than an hour of play remaining. The field now counts 42 players, each hoping to run up their stacks before the chips go into the bag at the end of level 14.

Silvio La Palerma still controls one of the largest stacks in play, however, the quickly mounting blinds have already begun to force the action and could lead to a tumultuous end of the flight.

Play has just resumed following the first break of the day and the end of the late registration and re-entry period. The fast action of the early levels is likely to give way to a more conservative grind to the end of level 14, as the prospect of qualifying for Day 2 will soon start to exert its influence.

Nearly everyone who hit the rail prior to the break decided to fire another bullet, generating 14 re-entries from 17 eliminations. The 61 remaining players are now competing for nearly 2 million in chips in play.

The current chip leader, Silvio La Palerma, is out ahead of the pack for the time being with a stack of 190 big blinds. But the blinds will be catching up to the field very quickly in this turbo format so even what may seem like an insurmountable lead at this stage is far from safe.

The levels are zooming by in this turbo flight, and the chips are flying!

Everyone realizes that this is their last chance to run up a stack in this event so every pot is being strongly contested. Of the five eliminations in the early levels, four players have opted to re-enter. A starting stack still provides 125 big blinds so new players and re-entries have lots of room to play at this stage. Late registration will be available until 12:45pm.

This is your last chance at the Strangers in the Night! The final starting flight, Day 1D Turbo, just got underway. 

Players will start with 25,000 in chips to play through 14 15-minute levels. As with the other starting flights, play will begin 10-handed before moving to 9-hande as soon as possible. 

The Strangers in the Night is a re-entry event with unlimited re-entries permitted until the end of the late registration period on each Day 1, which arrives at the beginning of level 7 at 12:45pm on Day 1D. 

Re-entry is permitted for any player that loses all their chips or chooses to forfeit their stack. A player may play additional Day 1s even if they have survived a previous Day 1 with chips. Players who qualify for Day 2 more than once resume play on Day 2 with their largest qualifying stack; all other qualifying stacks will be forfeited. Day 2 runs tonight at 7:00pm.
