$100 + $10 PL Omaha Re-entry Champion: Young Min Kim

    January 24, 2020January 27, 2020 | 4:47am | Playground

Event #11 of the 2020 World Cup of Cards, $100 + $10 PL Omaha Re-entry, attracted a total of 64 entries (including 17 re-entries) to make up a total prize pool of $6,208.

The pace of play began extremely fast and many players took their chances knowing unlimited re-entries were available. This resulted in a lot of multi-way all in pots to create some huge stacks in the early levels. Once the field reached the final table, the players adapted a slow but steady attitude with their eyes on the top prize.

Anthony Amato, one of the consistent chip leaders of the night, was eliminated in third place to take home $955. This left Emmilie Banville and Young Min Kim to battle it out. Kim flew under the radar for the majority of the tournament but really came alive at the final table, knocking out a number of players to build an enormous stack.

The final hand saw Banville and Kim get their chips in on the river on a 3 of Spades 3 of Clubs 10 of Clubs Queen of Hearts King of Spades board. Banville revealed a Jack of Clubs 9 of Spades 9 of Diamonds 8 of Clubs, while Kim had Jack of Spades 3 of Hearts Ace of Clubs 7 of Clubs. The river gave Kim a higher straight and the win for a grand prize of $1,773. Banville finished second for $1,295.

    Congratulations!

    $100 + $10 PL Omaha Re-entry Champion: Young Min Kim, $1,773
