Event #10 of the World Cup of Cards, the $100 + $10 Crazy Pineapple 8-Max Re-entry, featured a $6,000 prize pool guarantee and unlimited re-entries during the late registration period. There were a total of 62 entries, including 12 re-entries, which pushed the prize pool to just meet the guarantee and award a total of $6,014 to the top eight players.

The tournament moved at a rapid pace with an array of different chip leaders as the night progressed. Once the late registration period closed, there were a series of eliminations that narrowed the field to the final table in an instant.

Jordano Mascaro finished in third place for $925, leaving Normand Plessis Belair and Didier Delvil heads-up for the top spot. The final hand saw Plessis Belair shove all in pre-flop which Delvil called.

While both players could make a pair of sevens, it was Delvil’s ace that sealed the deal. Plessis Belair finished second to collect $1,255 and Delvil was crowned champion for $1,709. Congratulations!

Play is moving fast! The field is down to nine competitors who now make up the final table. The players also agreed upon a bubble deal that would take $15 from each payout to award the ninth place finisher with $120. Congratulations to all remaining players for making it in the money.

Crazy Pineapple is proving it’s name true. A series of quick eliminations have knocked the field down to ten players, which is just two spots from being in the money.

The chip leader has changed once again, as Normand Plessis Belair has taken a huge lead on his competitors after playing relatively under the radar for the majority of the night. His stack of 361,000 chips is almost triple the chip average and is currently worth 45 big blinds.

Play is expected to slow as the money bubble approaches but who knows what will happen based on tonight’s fast moving events.

There will be a seating redraw once 16 players remain to make up the final two tables.

Welcome to the Crazy Pineapple 8-Max Re-entry

    January 22, 2020January 22, 2020 | 8:02pm | Playground

Event ten of Playground’s World Cup of Cards, the Crazy Pineapple 8-Max Re-entry, has just kicked off. Tonight’s tournament has a buy-in of $100 + $10 and features a guaranteed prize pool of $6,000!

Crazy Pineapple is always an exciting event as every player receives three cards, one of which must be discarded. After the first round of betting, the dealer will reveal the flop and during the second round of betting, players discard one of their hole cards.

Competitors will start with a stack of 25,000 chips and play 8-handed through 20-minute blinds. There will be a seating redraw once 16 players remain and again for the top nine players at the final table. This is a re-entry event with unlimited re-entries permitted during the late registration period which will close at the beginning of level seven. Re-entry is permitted for anyone that loses their chips or chooses to forfeit their stack.

    Good luck to all competitors!
