Day 1A of the Grand Prix Canada has come to an exciting close. There was a rush of participants as soon as the day started and by the time play reached level three entries had already doubled. There were a total of 214 entries and 65 re-entries all battling for a spot in the top 31.
Play throughout the day was steady, with no massive blowouts but the lead changed as time progressed. The last few levels played out as expected, players with smaller stacks took chances and tried to double up, some were successful, some were not.
After 18 levels of play, Abram Logasy was able to maintain his lead with 1,900,000 in chips. Albert Nguyen climbed into second spot with an impressive stack of 66 blinds.
The final 31 players will advance to Day 2 on Sunday, December 15 at 1:00pm.
