With the blinds at 1,500/3,000, Julien Landry opened in early position to 12,000, only to see Patrick Tardif move all in from mid-position for 47,000. When it folded around to Real Cantin sitting on the button, he looked over to see how many chips Landry had in front of him. He thought about for at least 30 seconds and then announced that he was all in. Landry was looking uncomfortable and in the end, he let go of his hand, announcing to the table that he folded pocket eights.

Tardif would need some serious help as Cantin had a monster. The flop fell and Tardif now picked up outs to a wheel draw. The turn was of no help but the on the river gave him a badly needed double-up.
