After a couple weeks of cash games and a busy weekend of tournaments, we’ve got some changes to announce – most of which are suggestions from you, our players. That being said, the following updates have been put into place.
Cash games
The club games have been hit or miss. Some days we get a couple off the ground, others we may be lucky if there’s a heads up match going on. In an effort to get more games off the ground, the following has been implemented:
- The additional 20% rake back will only be applied to accounts that have played at least one raked hand on a Playground cash table, per week. The 20% still applies to cash activity throughout partypoker though. So make sure you get in a few hands per week on the Playground tables.
- Knowing that the hardest part in getting the games going is not knowing when others are logged in. We’re setting up a set meeting time of 7:30pm every night. That’s not to say that there won’t be action earlier, but with a set time we’re hoping that more players will log-in and therefore increase the chances of getting a game going.

Tournament updates
Response to our tournaments has been overwhelmingly positive, with most field sizes above 100 players. That being said, the live blind structure didn’t convert well to online so we made adjustments to make the tournaments play a bit smoother, and longer.
First off, we added more than 15 additional blind levels, 6 of which are in the early phases of the tournaments – within the first 13 of the original structure. The revised blind structure is provided below.
Additionally, we’ve reduced the late registration period from 12 levels, to 8.
The above changes have been applied to all tournaments (the same structure applies to PLO, however without the inclusion of antes).
